What do orange tulips and skunk cabbage have in common? At this time of year, springtime brings an explosion of color be it in the expected, tulips or the unexpected, skunk cabbage. When sourcing new products for Natural Kitchen and Home I am always drawn to the colorful and natural that can replicated in nature.
I am pleased to now offer for sale the Dermond Peterson collection of tote bags, table linens and pillows. This artistic duo’s one a kind creations so perfectly represent my vision for my home furnishings and decor online boutique.
Founded in 2001 by sisters, Sandra Dermond and Susan Peterson, Dermond Peterson is an artisan/manufacturing company that combines the rich, tactile qualities of “fine-art” printmaking techniques with innovative and slyly conceptual design strategies to produce fresh, functional textiles for everyday use at home.
Although frequently teetering on the brink of abstraction, we focus on the figurative traditions of textile design, presenting a range of imagery that takes on the classic motifs of domestic design and playfully explores the iconography (& clichés) of home fashion.
Our goal is to create an environmentally conscious product without compromising beauty, form or function. Every item in our catalog is block-printed by hand in our studios in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on exceptional linen and cotton fabric using environmentally sensitive, water-based inks that are free of solvents, lead and heavy-metals. Everything is washable and superbly color-fast, resulting in a product that is not only eco-friendly but also beautiful, purposeful and durable.
Go outside and enjoy the beautiful colors of Spring!
